Workout Wednesday #14 – Be Happy!

by DavalosMcCormack on March 18, 2009

I love listening to Jack LaLane!  He is the original exercise guru. But Jack didn’t just talk about what you needed to do to get your body in shape. He’s also the guy who told you how to get your face into shape. Jack always talked who about people who have faces who just hang and sag, as if they had no elasticity, no life.

That’s why Jack invented facenastics! Check it out, it’s hilarious.

Really!  I remember my mom just making the silliest faces.  Then, I saw Jack teaching everyone how to get a face-lift without a knife.  Here’s how you do it.

Start by making your mouth really big, opening it as wide as you can, like you are an opera singer.

Pause for a few seconds,  then scrunch up your face to make everything tiny.  Your lips are pursed and puckered as if you had just sucked on a lemon and were about to give a tiny  scream.

Right now use all the muscles in your face to make every kind of face you can think of like: grimaces, wide eyes, scrunchy nose and big smile.  You’ve got it!  Facenastics.

And if that doesn’t make you smile…go take a run!  Sweating and exercise are two other great ways to keep your skin healthy and fabulous. Jack swears by this… and at 94 he looks pretty good!
