Workout Wednesday #8

It’s Wednesday and that means, it’s time for Workout time. Twrrrrrrrrrr (whistle sound)  Everyone over here! We have a great exercise for you to add to your regular…or not so regular routine!  Today, enjoy the benefits of “Squeeze Squats”!

Sounds painful doesn’t it, but it’s not. And the beauty of this is you don’t need a gym to do it.

Before you start the most important thing to bring to this exercise is a positive attitude.  Have a mindset that you are going to do this exercise as many times as you can.  Challenge yourself.  If you try these out and you think you can only do six then do six. Then do four more!
Here is how you do it.

First, get yourself a medicine ball or beach ball, or basket ball, or a plastic painter’s bucket, or three or four pillows, or a stuffed toy that is at least 10 inches in width, uhmmm, or a plastic bag stuffed with old clothes… Well you get the picture, something softish and solid that you can hold between your knees that isn’t heavy, has a little give and will stabilize your knees about 10 to 12 inches apart.

Good! Standing straight put this lovely object between your lower thighs and slowly squat!   Keep the object in place and don’t allow your thighs to go farther down than parallel to the floor. Once you’ve reached that position pause, then slowly move back up to a standing position.

This works your legs and butt and if you can keep your balance, it improves that too!

The squeeze squat is a great all round exercise. And you can do it anytime, anywhere. And just when you think you’re done, just say to yourself “Uh, come on, you can do more than that!
